Friends had told me about one or two fashion lines that were run by Jewish women. I was pleased to hear that these designers existed. I was always interested in designing clothing and have numerous sketch books with various designs in them that have remained as pencil and paper. With not mastering the skill of sewing, I would try and find similar fashion pieces in the stores.
I have also been on my own personal journey when it comes to my fashion style. With my preference to wear dresses that have a higher neckline and are knee length, I figured, who better to offer this than religious designers! So, I recently started doing some research to learn more about Jewish designers, religious or not. There are so many amazing creators out there! I hope that you can enjoy learning more about these brands and find some new items that you may like, just as much as I do!
Third Bycee
Third Bycee creates such simple clean looks that it is easy to imagine wearing these in various settings. The dresses are adorable and they have so many creative mix and match ideas for the skirts and tops. What I also really like about this brand is that they are made right in the USA.
WUKOgals
Three sister, Chani, Elana, and Sara came together to start WOKUgirls in 2014. They describe their clothing as chic, comfortable, affordable, ad versatile and I completely agree! All while raising their children and teaching they have built a successful fashion line.
Linear by Rachel Riss
Linear offers a unique design that I haven't seen before. Dresses that don't have a front or back! You can wear them either way and get a totally different look. The skirts are similar that they can be worn in various ways. Gone are the days of accidentally putting something on backwards or not knowing is the zipper should go on the side, front, or back.
Pashmina Collection
If you are in search of a new dress for Friday night or something versatile, this is exactly why Connie started Pashmina Collection. She creates and manufactures her designs locally in New York! So this is a great opportunity to support a USA made product. I really enjoyed recognizing some of the photoshoot spots from South Florida!!! She has so many options that I found it hard to even pick what to display on this blog!
Eli7Designs
Elisheva Rishon introduces herself on her website of a Black Dark Skinner American Orthodox Jewish Girl, with her five identities having influenced her designs. She creates clothing that is ethically sources with a hope of empowering those who wear her collections. If you are looking for tops, sweatshirts, or leggings with hebrew sayings, this is the perfect place to get them!
The Frock NYC
No one described the style of The Frock NYC better than the designers, Chaya and Simi. It is a "relaxed, easy-to-wear vibe with a high-end aesthetic." Their description is absolutely perfect and their clothing works so well for any setting you may find yourself in.
Mikah Fashion
Mikah Fashion's dresses have such fun and colorful patters and reviews say that they are just as comfortable as they look. Many of these have a tie on them allowing them to be styled in various ways. While the clothing speaks for itself, what drew me into this the clothing company is their message. Mikah fashion has a dedicated blog where they share the inspiring stories of women who have gone through some devastating life challenges. I found myself lost for hours reading their stories and I highly encourage you to take a reach through.
Front Row by Sarah and Goldy
If there are any fabrics patterns that scream my closet, this is defiantly that! The slew of pastels and florals are my favorites. Yet, sometimes I do like to have a bolder color, and Front Row meets that preference! Sarah and Goldy really do design some stunning pieces. If you like that spring time feel, I highly recommend taking a look.
Mimu Maxi
The designers, Mimi and Mushky, offer a variety of simple outfit pieces, from dresses, skirts, tops, leggings, and more! Therefore, they have items for a variety of dress codes and settings. You can find their work in person at their store in NYC or online.
Raju
Raju state on their page that they "create modest garments that can allow a woman to celebrate her beauty as well as embrace her femininity." How wonderful of a statement is that?! The message to embrace ourselves is such an important reminder to hear. I really like the cute patterns in these dresses.
Deela Couture
The Deela designs currently have the soft simple look. There five trendy items were recently released and the speak for themselves. No layering needed for a more covered look, just as they promote!
Batsheva Hay
Basheva Hay describes her designs as going from housewife to hippie. She takes some more structured design ideas and gives them a more modern and funky style twist. She is based in New York and also designs cute fun outfits for young girls.
C'est Moi
C'est Moi gives me the Florida and California summer feelings. I personally pictured wearing a number of these items while lounging on a patio looking out at the beach or having a picnic. Maybe that's because I am really missing our summer vacations to the shore. Either way, they are so comfortable looking!
Shirel Avrahami
If you are looking to support an Israeli designer, Shirel has so many beautiful options! There are designs with an airy feels and other that are tighter fitted. Color wise there is also a large variety with bright, pastel, or darker fabrics. While I can read the hebrew, my translation isn't so great. Thankfully pictures speak for themselves! On my next trip, I will just need to see if there are any shops in the area.
House of Lancry
House of Lancry is another wonderful international designer. Her resort collection looks to light weight and perfect for those hot summers we are experiencing. What is also so cute, is she has a little girls line! So be sure to check that out.
Esther Rouimi
If you are looking for a stylish, well thought out bathing suit, that provides good coverage, this is the one for you! Esther has been so thoughtful in her designs that they are hard not to want them all. The designs are perfect for your first or 100th modest swim wear. I was blown away by these when they arrived.
