I am so excited to be writing this blog post. When I was looking for a wedding dress I had so much trouble picking! I knew that I wanted a long sleeve dress with a higher neckline. This was very different for me since I primarily used to wear strapless gowns for special events. But I knew that I wanted more coverage for our wedding.
Finding that perfect dress was challenging. Sheer accents with low V necklines was all the rage in 2017 and 2018 when I was looking. I did some searching and saw that this is still popular today. So where to find that more modest dress designs?
Well, I spent hours in Pinterest and started looking at each individual designer. This was so time consuming and draining. It also made it really difficult to decide. I started to second guess what I wanted and tried on a variety of styles.
That is why I am writing this blog post. This one is for you, my brides who are wanting that special dress. I had so much fun putting together this collection of dresses. I went back through some of my favorite designers that I was considering for myself and expanded to include some new ones that I didn't even know about at the time! I am glad that I am doing this three years after I purchased my own dress and two years after our wedding, or I would be going to play dress up and again struggle to make a decision.
I decided to include some variability in this post. There are dresses with long, short, and 3/4 sleeves, some sheer and opaque elements, simple and detailed, open and covered backs, and all different skirt styles. When looking at gowns, keep in mind that alterations teams are your personal fairies! They can add lining, close gaps, change hem, neck, and sleeve lengths, and dress up or down details. I had to add some extra lining because when the light hit my dress in a specific way it became totally sheer!
